About Sri Krishna Arts and Science College
Sri Krishna Arts and Science College, was established in the year 1997 by the VLB Trust in Coimbatore. The institution was granted autonomous status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2011. The College aims to impart quality education by bl The College aims to impart quality education by blending scientific and artistic knowledge to meet the needs of the current generation. The College now offers 31 undergraduate programs, 12 postgraduate programs, 9 research programs, and one five-year integrated program. From a student strength of 20 in 1997–98, the College has grown significantly in terms of infrastructure, technological development, and the quality of its faculty, enrolling 9,153 students in the academic year 2024–2025. The College has consistently ranked Top 50 in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in the College category over the past five years. It was awarded “A” grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in its 1st, 2nd, and 3rd accreditation cycles. The College has implemented the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) since becoming autonomous, extending it to up to 30% of its courses in all programs. Since 2015-16, the College has adapted Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in its curriculum and successfully implemented skill measurement for student learning, which is unique among Arts and Science Colleges. The institution has partnered with several foreign universities, providing students an opportunity for higher studies and exchange programs. Additionally, compulsory internships are now a part of all undergraduate programs, preparing students for industry roles. One of the noteworthy elements of the evaluation system is the implementation of the capstone model, which has been highly appreciated. Over the past two years, the College has taken steps to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and it now plans to introduce four-year undergraduate programs with research components and plans to introduce more programs in line with NEP 2020. The College is highly regarded by employers, with top multinational and national companies visiting for campus recruitment. The graduate outcomes of the College were ranked 2nd best among all Arts and Science Colleges in the NIRF 2023 rankings, with a graduate outcome rate of around 90%.
