A Medical College was established in the year 2009 in the name and style of Sri Muthukumaran Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, and has been approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi for admission of 150 students in the 1st year MBBS from the Academic year 2010-2011. The Trust started Sri Muthukumaran Medical college Hospital and Research Institute, Chikkarayapuram, Near Mangadu, Chennai-600 069 from the academic year 2010-2011 with an annual intake of 150 students in MBBS Course with the approval of Medical Council of India and Central Government and affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, this institute will fall under the category of Telugu Minority Institution. To function as Centre of excellence in Medical education by providing world class education and training, which will help the emerging Doctors to serve humanity with dedication. To provide quality medical service at an affordable cost to the people. Today the hospital and the Medical College at Chikkarayapuram are recognized as outstanding institutions and have won the appreciation of medical experts and administrators alike from the State and the Central Governments. The College building consists of ground + 6 Floors with a built up area of 15600 sq.mts. All the Pre-clinical and Para clinical departments are accommodated in the College building. All the Departments are manned by experienced and dedicated faculty members fully confirming to the standards prescribed by the Medical Council of India. The faculty of our institution is our greatest strength.
