Sree Krishna College (SKC), Guruvayur

Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur visualized by Sree Krishna Educational Society, was formally inaugurated on 18th July 1964 and was affiliated to Kerala University. In 1967 the college was shifted to the present location at Ariyannur. The college came he present location at Ariyannur. The college came under the direct control of Guruvayur Devaswom in 1976. With extreme sense of satisfaction, I share with all benefactors and stake holders of this esteemed institution, my thoughts on its steady march towards future glory. The establishment of the college in 1964 was the fulfillment of a long cherished dream of the localites in Guruvayur, who wished to have an academic institution in the area for both boys and girls. The college has developed over the years into a first grade college with 13 Under Graduate (UG) & 6 Post Graduate (PG) Courses. Two of the PG departments have also turned into Research Departments at present. The college is marching forward in tune with the well appreciated mission and vision that wishes to see the students to turn out as meaningfully empowered citizens. Our highly qualified and experienced faculty members have been continually chiselling the students over the years. Infrastructural development of the college is in progress at an enviable pace and efforts are on to make Sree Krishna College one of the well-equipped institutions in the state. The faculty of the college are highly respected in their respective disciplines with most of them holding doctoral and postdoctoral degrees. The members of our Administrative staff have always been very helpful and without them, we sincerely feel that whatever we have achieved would not have been possible. It is my pleasure to refer to the achievements we have garnered in academic, sports and cultural areas. We have achievements that comprise a long list of University toppers and eminent alumni who have made a mark in almost all social spheres. One of the cherished dreams of the college is to perpetuate a sports culture that we can proudly showcase our success in the form of international and national achievers in diverse sporting realms. Cultural activities are on the upswing and D zone inter collegiate championships have become a routine feature year after year. We also make serious contribution towards the community around and the students of the college, with the support of their mentors, serve the people of the village by conducting health surveys and literacy campaigns. We look forward to have more productive academic activities in future and solicit the continued cooperation of all well-wishers of the institution. ...view more
