Shrimati Ullasben Gordhandas College of Education is Secondary Teachers’ Training Institute that was established in a year 1964. It was one of the institutes which was established when the state had the dearth of trained teachers. The state of Guj the dearth of trained teachers. The state of Gujarat came to in existence in the year 1960 and they needed the teacher training institutes for catering needs of school Education. It was the vision of Late Shri Rasikbhai G. Shah that students of Gujarat must get the qualitative education. The institute has been working for the noble cause of the society. It is its 51th year of service to school education in the state of Gujarat. We therefore insist committed, sincere, technology oriented, innovative, transparent, ethical, democratic, professional teachers for the schools. The college is affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad on 31st December 1988 and recognized & approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal to offer B.Ed. courses. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "C" Grade - (CGPA Score 1.87 on a 4 Point Scale) in the year 2008-09. The institute offers one year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course. Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
