The Surendranagar Law Society started in 1986 for the purpose of education, which is helpful in self-employment. First Law society started Law College, in co-education, so that one can became self dependent, after one year Law Society started Mahila endent, after one year Law Society started Mahila Home Science College, because being backward area, parents don’t allow their daughters to study in Co-education College. The mission is to develop self-confidence, became independent and make them science oriented. A girl with scientific approach and mother of future generation can make their future generation intellectual. To inculcate values & overall development of girls is the mission of our institution. " Ours is only Mahila College imparting, Home Science, Arts, Commerce, and M.Sc. Home Science in Surendranagar district. " Smt. Sadguna C. U. Shah Home Science and C. U. Shah Arts & Commerce Mahila College Has been established in 1988 with Home Science faculty. In 1990 We have started Arts faculty and in 1992 started Commerce faculty. Master in home science started in 2000. Research programme in home science started in 2007. Empowering women through education is the motto of our institute. Building National Character & inculcating values among youth is the necessity of the time. Faculty takes active part in curriculum development. UGC-New Delhi recognized carrier oriented programme ( UGC – COP ) certificate courses has been introduced during 2005-06 academic year. " The courses are job oriented & skill generating. " Through Home Science education we prepare modern women with scientific approach, family value, social responsibility and self-independency. They can compete in global market. In Arts educations we teach Hindi, Gujarati, and Sanskrit literature. Now a day due craze of English, mother tongue and national language is being ignored. One should be proud of its mother tongue, and Hindi is our national language. Each and every Indian should be fluent in their language. We inculcate the values and proud to be an Indian and Gujarati. Through Commerce education we prepare students for Computer, Entrepreneurship, Management, Human resource, Accounts, English, and Communication to stand in globalization & Business world. Through Master Degree future Lecturers and Scientists are prepared. Through traditional degrees & diplomas student’s can study the prescribed course of their faculty but cannot develop the skill or cannot be trained. For specific art, we have started UGC – COP certificate courses, which are job oriented and any student, can join any course.
