Eastern part of the Ahmedabad has historically lagged behind the western region in terms of development and access to basic amenities including avenues of higher education. It was with this perspective that the institute was set up on 6th September, e that the institute was set up on 6th September, 2005 as a part of the efforts to narrow down this divide and also to provide the students belonging to the eastern region, access to education leading to Bachelors degree in the discipline of commerce. The college had its humble beginning in the premises of Ramkrishna Krishna Vidyalaya, Maninagar with just 45 students and a few faculties deputed from other Government colleges. Soon, realising that a college in the school premises would not be feasible in the long run, we got shifted to our present location which was formerly known as Bihari Mill Compound.Shri K.K.Shastri Govt. Commerce College was established with an objective to provide locally revered, recognized education to Undergraduate and Post Graduate students. It also aims to provide a safe learning environment to students making them innovative learners, intellectual thinkers and problem solvers.Growth and Development of our students is the primary aim of our existence. The college strives to provide multitude of avenues for the all-round growth and development of our students through its co-curricular and extra- curricular activities and initiatives. The youth have to be nurtured into being responsible citizens of the country and the world at large. A sense of empathy towards the fellow human beings is a pre-requisite for the same. The college engages the students in various social outreach activities to instill in them a sense of oneness with the society and the country. We envision a world in which every student attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation and hold the power to create opportunity for themseleves and others and acccess to research and education. To provide a locally revered and nationally recognised education to undergraduate commerce students. To move tirelessly on the path of excellence and perfection by adopting the latest technology, developing the personality of students in a holistic manner by combining skills and values, equipping students to face the realities of life.
