The Unjha Education Board was started in the year 1935 with 11 members. And got registered as Public Trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 on 26th November, 1952. To establish education institute with a view to provide education to all the c tute with a view to provide education to all the children of this area. To setup primary, secondary and higher educational institutes, gymnasia, cultural centers and hostels in the town of unjha and surrounding villages. To maintain and manage these institutes. To give proper economic help to qualified and scholar students for higher education. Shree B.P. Brahmbhatt Arts & M.H.Guru Commerce College, Unjha was established on 15th June 1965 under the management of Unjha Education Board, Unjha. It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress. The college is affiliated to Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. The college attained the status of Deficit Grant-in-Aid status and re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.75 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) in the year 2013-14. The institution laid the foundation of higher education in 1965 in this semi-rural area of North Gujarat with a view to providing higher education to all the sections of society irrespective of class, creed, and religion. Initially, there were only 110 students in 1965-66 but gradually the institute saw an increase in the number of students and in the year 2006-07, the number of students reached up to 1885. Economically backward and underprivileged classes also got an easy access to higher education. The impact of the education is seen in all walks of life, particularly, economic, social and cultural. It has created healthy, social and better economic environment across the society. The spread of education has drastically narrowed the disparity between the two genders male and female. The entire set up of the society has been revolutionalized by the spread of education. The college offers three years undergraduate degree courses & two years postgraduate courses in Arts & Commerce stream under Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan. There is a centre of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU), Ahmedabad in the college, where 37 courses are offered in Distant mode and also offers a number of Computer courses at the Computer Centre. The vision of the college is to co-related classroom teaching with the practical side of life and reality. Financial, academic and infrastructure resources of the institution are adequate to maintain and sustain the demands of existing courses and even foster better educational atmosphere. The institution endeavors to enhance, improve and sustain a good standard of education. It has the capability, resources, and enough infrastructures to set up new courses for the benefit of students. Guru Commerce College was founded in the year 1965 with the objective of offering higher learning opportunities to people belonging to all groups irrespective of religion, creed and caster. The college began to function with a student strength of 110 and now its strength has gone beyond 1800 students. The College is offering arts and commerce education under the guidance of Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University located at Patan. The Bachelor of Arts course offered by the college is covering Guajarati, Economics & English as primary subjects, Hindi, political science & psychology as first subsidiary subjects and Gujarati, Hindi, Political Science and psychology as second subsidiary subjects.
