The State Model Institute of Ayurveda Sciences, SMIAS Campus, Gandhinagar is a newly established institute run by the Directorate, Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat. The Institute is y Welfare, Government of Gujarat. The Institute is developed as the model institute for Ayurveda education and research and aspires to become the nodal centre for imparting quality training to the budding scholars and provide the best and affordable medical services to the ailing community. The huge campus has an incredible state of the art construction of Hospital, College, Library & Administrative buildings. The State Model Institute for Ayurveda Sciences, Kolavada, Gandhinagar campus is spread in 15 acres of land and more than 75000 Sq.mts. of construction. Thus, the State Model Institute for Ayurveda Sciences, Kolavada, Gandhinagar aims to promote and popularize the Ayurveda system of medicine. The institute at present has an admission capacity of 75 students including 09 students of All India Quota which is to be increased to 100 in the near future. The institute shall be a unique environment for Ayurveda believers as the hospital named State Model Ayurved College Attached Hospital has a huge infrastructure gauged by the total stipulated bed strength of 400 beds making it number one Ayurveda hospital. Thus, it is a marvel in the arena of Ayurveda education. The State Model Institute of Ayurveda Sciences, Kolavada, Gandhinagar campus has a well - constructed facilities – Boys & Girls Hostels- There are two separate hostel buildings namely the Maitrayee bhawan for girls and the Agnivesha bhawan for the boys. The total capacity of these hostels is about 1000 scholars. Post Graduate (PG) Teaching Block – The State Model Institute for Ayurveda Sciences, Kolavada, Gandhinagar aims to be a pioneer in post graduate teaching and research and therefore has all the potential to grow as per the vision and mission statements. To be the Role-Model Ayurveda Education and Research Institution with Academic and Value based ethos that promotes medical knowledge and skill of an international standard, which is relevant to the needs and aspirations of ailing mankind.
