Shree Lohana Sthapit Mahila Vikas Gruh, Rajkot was established on 20th July, 1953. According to the social condition, Hon. Sheth Shree Nanjibhai, Kalidasbhai, Mehta had committed to achieve certain motives by Shree Lohana Sthapit Mahila Vikas Gruh. otives by Shree Lohana Sthapit Mahila Vikas Gruh. They are given below:- To make efforts for all round development of those women who are totally dependent and socially downtrodden. To make efforts to educate the illiterate women. To provide them such facilities in the Institution and for making them self-relient completely and to make the self-dependent to earn their livelihood. First of all, in 1953 Adult Education and Primary School were started. Adhyapan Mandir (P.T.C.(D.El.Ed.) Course) began in 1957. Knitting course started in 1959 by Gujarat Samajik Sanstha Madhyastha Mandal and technical department, Ahmedabad. S.S.C. classes started in 1970 in which S.S.C. examination was appeared directly within 5 yeasr. Over aged women get education in the short period in the institution and therefore they can pass the S.S.C examination. Spinning and Weaving were also started so that women admitted in institution, can become self – dependent. Many women could earn their livelihood and spent certain amount for their education by means of ‘Ambar Charkha’. By this so many women have re-established themselves in the society with self – respect. Since then Management of institution has been working successfully to achieve above motives. There is a well trained staff, The Manager, Full time Gruhmata, Chief Accountant, Full time / Part time Ladies Supervisory staff, Kitchen cooking staff, Purchase division. All are working under team spirit to give ultra modern safe, hygienic pollution free lodging boarding facility. Similarly PTC(D.El.Ed.) girls student are also getting educational facility under the same campus with designated education premises headed by good meek and modest lady Principal and the other learned ladies & gents teaching staff. " There is a considerable erosion of values in our society. So value education should get top most priority in our curriculum. Education plays very important role to prepare responsible citizens. We know that future of our nation is being shaped in our classroom and this future is shaped by the teachers. So it is my humble effort to prepare such a hard working teacher who takes the whole responsibility on their own shoulders because the education is the chief defence of the nation. " To grow spiritual educational national and human values in the trainees. To promote all round personal growth and development – moral, physical intellectual, emotional and aesthetic. To prepare the trainees for responsible leadership and selfless service. To promote healthy respect and tolerance for diversities, be they of language, religion, culture and economic class.
