Sheth V.S.Law College is a statutory college established by The Unjha Education Board, Unjha in the year 1969 which is affiliated with Gujarat University. Sheth V.S.Law College is one of the oldest law colleges in North Gujarat region. To meet with t w colleges in North Gujarat region. To meet with the requirements of aspiring youth, seeking knowledge of law, Unjha Education Board decided to establish Law College at Unjha to import legal education to the students of Unjha and nearby vicinity. The motto of the institution is to provide constant improved education in the field of law with a vision to promote excellence in legal education and to set up high standard to meet the ever elevating demand of novel and ground-breaking legal edification. The ideology behind the establishment of the institution is to serve the society by producing dynamic students skilled in the art that can protect the legal rights of the society. Students excelled from this institution are holding prestigious position at Gujarat High Court and District Court as Judges, political leaders, renowned advocates and social workers. The interdisciplinary education of law along with economic, social, cultural and management development provides a platform for the students to excel in all fields of life. Our teaching methodology comprises of correlating class room teaching with the practical knowledge of the subject matter. Academic and infrastructural resources of the institution provide best facilities to impart training and conduct research in legal field. Well furnished airy classrooms and a large college library with 7200 books contribute to provide rich resource of knowledge to the faculty as well as students. Since the establishment, the institute has been regularly conducting Moot Court competition and students get selected for the Moot Court at Bar Council of India. Exposure to such an environment helps student to develop communication skills with integrated personality and high competitive spirit. The institution is actively involved in organizing free legal aid camps at different villages, bringing out awareness about the domestic violence, female infanticide, labor hardships, etc. Institute has organized University Youth Festival where about 1400 students from various colleges participated making it grand success. The students get ample opportunities to participate in co-curricular activities which help to shine them with flying colors. The main focus of the college is to make discipline a core value, encourage students to develop a sense of responsibility through a well planned academic schedule. The college encourages Inter College, Intra College competitions and Sports activities. Being a government college it is directly monitored by the Education Department and Gujarat University. Up to 1969 there wasn’t any law college in the North Gujarat area. The youth aspiring knowledge of law had to go to distant place like Ahmedabad or some where else. “The Unjha Education Board, Unjha.” thinking about the hardships of the students of the area and decided to start Law College at Unjha. The office bearers of the Unjha Education Board met Sheth Sri.Chandravdan Vrajlal Gandhi and explained about the hardship to get the legal education in north Gujarat aria. Sheth Sri Chandravadan Gandhi was immediately convinced and donated money to start the law college in the name of his father Sheth Sri Vrajlal Sevakram and in this way Sheth V.S. Law College came into existence from 15th June, 1969. 1. To make students aware about their social, civic, political and moral obligations towards society. 2. To prepare quality advocates those who spread legal awareness among the people of the society. 3. To enhance and to improve the quality and the standard of education. 5. To be in tune and harmony with the rapid changes in the field of education. 6. To achieve and maintain excellent standard academic performance. 7. To be the high standard institution of learning in North Gujarat region. 8. To set-up innovative and need based programmers of learning. 9. To develop overall balanced and healthy personality of students. 10. To create a healthy society environment and community cast, creed and divisive forces. 11. To foster and nourish basic human values which can fight against dehumanizing forces. 12. To empower women students against exploitation and social injustices. Today the institution has completed 50 years in the field of imparting education of law. The students who studied in this institution now hold good position in the society. Some of them are enjoying prestigious position at Gujarat High Court and District courts as judges. Some are good political leaders and others are well known advocates and social workers. The education of law is experienced in all walks of life, particularly economic, social & cultural. It has created healthy social and better economic environment in the society. The expansion of education has drastically decreased the disparity between the two genders – male and female. Our constant endeavor is to instill leadership qualities in our children through NSS and NCC. Finishing schools have honed the skills of the students. Collegiate Women’s’ Development Cell and Anti- ragging cell have ensured safety on campus while at the same time addressing students’ grievances if any. In order to give the students economic independence, the college has invited various companies and it gives me immense pride in informing you that girls from our very first batch of Arts graduates have secured their future through campus interviews. Teamwork is the foundation for success in every institution.
