Institute has been a temple of learning for almost seven decades. Established in 1969, Managed by Sarvoday Higher Education society mansa, the Institute is affiliated to Gujarat University and has a grant-in-aid status from the govt.of Gujarat. It ha rant-in-aid status from the govt.of Gujarat. It has carved its path to eminence through sheer dynamism and dedication of its founder fathers and educators.Sheth L H Scince college Institute is a leading institute offering Undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in various disciplines of science. There are 5 subjects taught at Under Graduate level and 1 subjects at Post Graduate level. The institute is enriched with well developed physical as well as academic infrastructures. It has specious classrooms, smart-multimedia class rooms, well-equipped science laboratories, Digital English Language Laboratory, prosperous library and parking facilities and other amenities. Computers with internet facility in the separate room, and other common resources like Multi-media Projector, Overhead Projector, CD Player, Tape-Recorder are important additions in the learning resources of the College , during the last five years. All the teachers and students are trained to use these equipment . Being an affiliated college, our institution is not free to develop the evaluation system independently. Continuous student assessment is done through internal assessment. There is 30 percent internal assessment and 70 percent external assessment. 20 marks are reserved for two terminal tests and the remaining 10 marks are for library work, classroom attendance as well as students’ participation in classroom activities. This helps in the continuous assessment of students’ comprehension as well as expression. Besides, classroom activities like paper presentation and group discussions also assess students’ knowledge indirectly, though not in terms of marks. Our faculties are valuable assets, highly qualified with majority of them are M.Phil/Ph.D. Some faculties are perusing research work for their Ph. D. The college has provided them space to associate with their post doctoral research work. The main area of activities of Science College, Mansa has been delivering of graduate and post-graduate programmes in the area of science. It all began with the idea of creating a higher education institution that would support, listen (to) and be willing to understand the needs of society with the aim of creating ample opportunities to the students and giving a sense of modest pride to its founder members. With its mission to be a gate-way to international careers, its vision to be a quality driven centre of learning in science, and values of knowledge and skills based on a deep understanding of the scientific world and academic research, life-learning approach, and feedback (students) on the quality of the programmes offered, Science College, Mansa stands apart amongst other affiliated colleges. The ultimate aim of the college is to prepare qualified and competent science graduates and post-graduates for practical work and successful careers in accordance with the new trends and requirements of globalisation in world science.
