Security and Scientific Technical Research Association (SASTRA) is a Section 8, Not-for-profit Company under the Companies Act 2013, set up by Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), an Institution of National Importance, Ministry of Home Affairs, Governm onal Importance, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. SASTRA’s primary objective is to facilitate a quadruple engagement between academia, industry, innovators and the government for innovation, incubation and technology acceleration in the space of national security and policing. The agenda is to accelerate India towards an Atmanirbhar and AtmaSurakshit Bharat. The emphasis of innovation process is to understand the requirements of the operational units of the forces and to create tailor-made equipment in association with the industry/innovators/MSMEs. Overall, the process is geared to integrate component technologies onto a platform and facilitate the gradual development of the technology to meet the qualitative requirements (QRs) of the forces. The aim is to also incubate start-ups to fulfil the futuristic needs of the forces. To facilitate a quadruple engagement between academia, industry, innovators and the government for innovation, incubation, technology acceleration, research and development in the space of national security and policing. To become an aggregator of solution providers who work within the problem space of national security and policing with emphasis on youth engagement and Ātmanirbhar Bhārat.
