The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism was established in the year 2019 with a vision to develop responsible media professionals and academicians with universal values and knowledge to meet the ever changing divergent media environment a et the ever changing divergent media environment and converging media technologies. The Department is currently offering a Two-Year Post Graduate Program in Mass Communication and Journalismand a PhD Program in Media Studies. The postgraduate program focuses on the professional development with skill oriented courses, industry based training and research along with choice based subject electives to meet the interest of the students. The department aims to collaborate with media industry and academicians nationally and globally in transforming the education and research to keep abreast with the challenges and demands of the field. The Doctoral Program aims to provide advanced training in media and communication research with adequate skill sets and knowledge that will enable the scholars to pursue their career in academia as well as professional research organisation. The faculty members, trained in both academia and industry, are approachable, dynamic and enthusiastic giving quality training and education in media content production, critical thinking and media analysis making them professionally ready to realise the dreams and aspirations of the students in the creative industries. We encourage students to interact with their peers from other disciplines in assignments and projects to promote interdisciplinary work culture.
