School of Life Sciences, Sambalpur University

The School of Life Sciences, Sambalpur University is a premier institute of the state which is known nationally and internationally for its study and research programs. Established in 1969 as Centre of integrated study in Biological Sciences, it beca f integrated study in Biological Sciences, it became one of the few centers where physical sciences have been merged with biology in higher studies. The School imparts teaching and research programs in all the major branches of Life Sciences like Biochemistry, Physiology, Ecology, Microbiology and Molecular Biology. Besides the regular course of M. Sc., and Ph. D. programs in Life Sciences, the School runs a regular M. Sc. Microbiology course since 2022. The faculties of the School are committed to provide best tertiary education and fundamental knowledge of the living world that will advance the health of the country, our planet, including humans. Our mission is to promote research, innovation, communications and entrepreneurial skills and mindset in the students by giving lifelong learning to make them responsible citizens.
