The School of Doctoral Research and Innovation has the responsibility for leadership, oversight and policy advice in relation to the research degrees in respect of Ph.D. and M.Phil. The School is committed to provide appropriate support and guidance itted to provide appropriate support and guidance to the research students and their supervisors. The School intends to promote innovation and excellence in research education and researcher development across the University. It provides a range of services to support and develop the research students, supervisors and early career researchers including research education programmes, policy development, advice and guidance and scholarships. The School aims to enhance the quality of the research experience and culture at GLS University by providing face-to-face and online training, seminars, academic events and social activities. The School will foster good practices in supervision through the provision of training and compliance procedures for the supervisory staff. GLS University offers outstanding opportunities for post-graduates to pursue their research careers by offering the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. The duration of the Ph.D. programme will be generally three years followed by submission of a thesis with 80,000 to 100,000 words. The programme is available on full-time basis (for JRF and fellowship holders) and part time basis for all other applicants. The scholars need to complete one semester of course work (included in the duration of three years), and then periodically appear before the Research and Development Committee, which monitors the scholars’ progress.
