Sankalchand Patel, a freedom fighter and a social entrepreneur, with the objective of working towards educational and socio-cultural needs of the people in North Gujarat. Shri. Sankaclchand Patel dedicated himself in the freedom movement from a young age with a strong desire to serve the people around him. He was a pioneer figure in initiating & nurturing many social organizations meant to serve the people and hence eminently was known as the ‘Vishwakarma’ of Visnagar. Always driven by philanthropic values in his heart, he instituted ‘Visnagar Taluka Labor Co-op Union’ and became its Founder Chairman. He had a principle of “Without cooperation there cannot be any development” and so initiated many public welfare activities like Tube Well Drilling, launching of the brand Sahakar Engine Oil, production of agricultural tools and supplying quality seeds for farming etc. which helped raise the standard of living of people of North Gujarat especially the farmers. Nootan Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal (NSVKM) was established in 1952, by Shri. Sankalchand Patel, a freedom fighter and a social entrepreneur. The aim was always to create a value based diversified education system for the students of North Gujarat. The university was established on 9th May 2016 vide Gujarat Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2016 and is spread across 84 acres of land. Today, the university is home to various institutes offering Medical, Paramedical, Technical, & Science Courses.
