Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management (SCEM), Mangaluru, an Autonomous Institute affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, was established in the year 2007 under the Bhandary Foundation. It is one of the premie r the Bhandary Foundation. It is one of the premier technological institutions inculcating quality and value-based education through innovative teaching learning process for holistic development of the graduates. The institute has a permanent affiliation for most of the programs, approved by the AICTE & the Government of Karnataka, Accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with ‘A’ grade, National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for Five Engineering Programs, and the Institution of Engineers (India) (IE(I)). The institute is recognized under Section 2(f) and 12b of University Grants Commission (UGC) act and as an Innovation Cell by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), India. Sahyadri has been accorded with the recognition of Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The Institute also houses New Age Incubation Network (NAIN)/k-Tech since 2017 to promote Product Development and Incubation, recognized by MSME as Host Institute (HI) to establish technical Business Incubator (BI) in 2020. The Institute is listed in the top 25 most innovative self-financed private institution in India by ATAL Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement (ARIIA) 2020 and in band “excellent” in Private Engineering Colleges 2021. The Institute has been awarded 4-star ranking by the MHRD-IIC for three successive years - 2019, 2020 and 2021. Sahyadri has collaborations and networking with many National and International research organizations, Educational Institutions and Industries. Currently, the institute is offering 9 Undergraduate (UG) Degree Programs and a Post Graduate (PG) Degree Program under which around 3000 students from culturally diversified backgrounds are enrolled. The institute comprises around 250 well qualified and experienced Faculty and Staff members for mentoring and guiding the young talents. Sahyadri promotes the idea of Project-Based Learning through various activities and initiatives in association with various in-house industries, which helps the graduates to improve their expertise. Throughout the program, students will be provided an opportunity and platform by various institutional initiatives to exhibit/improve their talents and skill in national and international events hosted by premier institutes such as IITs/NITs/IIITs/SAEs/International colleges and universities. The In-house Industries and Start-ups are the main stay of the College.
