B. SC. Nursing is a four year degree course. It aims to prepare the nurse who can make independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the right of and facilitate individual and groups in pursuits of health function in the hospital, community nu s of health function in the hospital, community nursing services, and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor and manager in a clinical / public health. GNM (General Nurse Midwifery) deals with the education of nurses in general health care, nursing and midwifery. The main aim of this course is to prepare nurses to function as efficient members of the health team, (Staff Nurse) beginning with the competencies for first level positions in all kinds of health care settings. ANM(Auxillary Nurse Midwifery) course trains students and make them capable of working as basic health workers. The main aim of ANM course is to train students and make them capable of taking up nursing practice in rural and urban areas .Special focus is given towards treatment of women, children and old age people. Nursing is a fantastic career. It allows you to work directly with people, or indirectly by creating programs that will help them achieve longer lives in good health. The demand for nurses has always been consistently strong, and the predicted growth is significant and well above the national average both in terms of the number of jobs and salary expectations.
