The Punjab Vidhan Sabha passed the Punjab Act of 1961 no. 35 Punjabi University Patiala was established on 30 April 1962. After this, the President of India Dr. S. Radha. Krishnan on 24 June 1962. Our goal is to create empowered and independent citizens in a democratic India who have equal opportunities to flourish. Universities have an important responsibility for this work. After the Hebrew University of Israel, the Punjabi University established in the royal princely state of Patiala is the second such university in the world, which has been established in the name of the language. The main objective of Punjabi University is to promote Punjabi language, literature and culture. Punjabi University is not only working on Punjabi language but it has about 70 departments related to different fields of knowledge, in which teaching work related to science, engineering, social sciences, religion, economics, management etc. Goes, there are M.Phil and Ph. in subjects related to these areas. D level research work is also conducted. Students associated with this university have achieved great success in various fields. Like the big faces associated with the film and music world have been produced by this university. Scholars and critics associated with it have been presenting their valuable ideas in world level conferences while having international fame. Punjabi University has been spreading the light of education since 1965 in a 316 acre green pollution free campus. Initially 9 colleges under the University in an area of 16 km were attached to it and later the number increased to 43. Today this university is fulfilling the educational needs of nine districts of Punjab with full capacity. Since its inception and over time, this educational institution established for universality and education has proved to be a boon for quality research work in the fields of higher education, human welfare, skills, sciences, engineering languages, technology and many more. is Spread over 600 acres of land, this university with around 1500+ qualified teachers imparting multi-faceted, multi-research and multi-talented education to 14,000+ students in a very conducive environment, 70+ teaching and research departments in the campus. / Chairs, 27 Regional Centres/ Neighborhood Campuses/ Constituent Colleges and 274 Colleges are affiliated to it. ...view more
