We devote 15 minutes for Morning Prayer each day. On Mondays teachers hoist the National Flag and give a short speech emphasizing one moral/ethical aspect. The students are given opportunities to showcase their talents which develop their confidence case their talents which develop their confidence and competence. They explain a ‘kural’ a day, give the day’s news headlines and share a few interesting general information. Prize winners from inter / intra school competitions are honoured. During festival times, the socio-religious significance of the festival and its mode of celebration are also explained. To improve concentration and reduce stress, the students are encouraged to meditate for five minutes in the afternoon. Learning by doing Activities are lessons for life through which the students learn humility, selflessness and team work. While academics is given due importance, a wide spectrum of curricular, co-curricular and extra – curricular activities mould them into competent personalities. They teach them to treat both success & failure with equanimity. All the students of stds. VI to VIII undergo yoga training. They learn meditation, breathing exercises, basic asanas and take part in memory games. Students with special aptitude are given extra training in advanced asanas. Extra coaching is given in athletics, throw ball, volleyball, handball, kho-kho and chess. Competitions conducted by private organisations, educational institutions, charitable trusts and various clubs provide a platform for our students to display their innate abilities. This holistic education has ensured that our students are achievers in every sphere. When they leave their Alma mater, they are ready to face the world with courage, confidence, holding high the values of honesty and integrity, with an abiding love for their motherland and concern for their less fortunate brethren. ...view more
