Polytechnic In Horticulture, ACHF, NAU, Paria was established in the year 2012 with objectives . To generate middle level technician for horticultural field, laboratory research work, commercial enterprise and extension services. To impart theoretica prise and extension services. To impart theoretical and practical training to the students in horticulture so that they can gain confidence for self employment in horticulture, processing, value addition and post harvest technology. The academic council of Gujarat Agricultural University, approved course curriculum for Polytechnic In Horticulture degree programme as per state policies. The technology of horticultural crops is not reaching in proper fashion up to the farmers of tribal area. For proper transfer of technology and development of horticulture industry training to student’s leads to Diploma in Horticulture. Therefore, Polytechnic In Horticulture at Paria came into existence in 2012-13 under Dean, ASPEE College of Horticulture & Forestry which is located at Agriculture Experimental Station (AES), Paria, Taluka Pardi of Valsad District on Udwada- Paria road about 4 kms away from Udwada Railway Station (WR). Initially, this station was run by the Department of Agriculture, Government of Gujarat. Later on, in 1972 this station was transferred to Gujarat Agricultural University. This region comes under South Gujarat Heavy Rainfall Agroclimate Zone-I. This zone comprises of whole of Dangs, Valsad, Navsari and parts of Surat district. The total geographical area of this zone is 9.59 lakh ha. This zone has been divided in to 4 Agro-ecological situations. The Horticulture Polytechnic, NAU, Paria is situated in the Agroecological situation –II at 20O-40’ N latitude and 72O-96’ N longitude. For establishment of this college the generous grant of Rs. 38.20 Lakh was sectioned by Government of Gujarat vide resolution No. NKV122011-3266-K.2 dated: 19th April, 2012. The first batch of 22 Students was admitted as per the guidelines of Navsari Agricultural University and at present intake capacity for Diploma course is 40 students.
