In Gwalior state, arrangements for higher education were made in Gwalior and Ujjain by the then rulers. , Higher education was given only in the subjects of arts and science. The then government remained indifferent towards legal education. Some pro ned indifferent towards legal education. Some prominent social workers and educationists of Gwalior felt the lack of legal education and decided to start 'Law College' for law classes and to make education accessible to the general public. With this objective, an educational institution was started on 15 August 1937. This first non-government educational institution of Gwalior state was named 'Gwalior Education Society'. , Went . Due to this, success was not achieved and it was decided to start high school and upgrade it to college in a systematic manner. , 'Parvati Bai Gokhale Vidyalaya' was started on 21 July 1941 with the ninth class. Start | It took place in a cell of Potnis Dharamshala, Jiwajiganj. There were 2 full-time teachers and only 20 students. Intermediate Arts classes in July 1945, Intermediate Commerce in May 1951 and Intermediate in 1957. Intermediate science classes were started and it became a full-fledged Intermediate College in July 1957.
