Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College & Hospital (NRSMC&H)

During its long journey over the last 146 years, Nilratan Sircar Medical College has grown both physically and intellectually. Presently it offers Under Graduate (250 intake annually), Post Graduate (in 19 disciplines) as well as Post Doctoral course in 19 disciplines) as well as Post Doctoral courses (in 11 disciplines). College also offers M.Sc, B.Sc and Diploma courses in Nursing and as many as ten Para Medical diploma courses. In keeping with norms of the Regulatory Body, the college has as many as eight Lecture Theatres of varying capacities. There is a large Play Ground within the campus. Hostels for UG and PG students, both boys and girls are there as per recommendation of MCI. College also has one large Auditorium in the Academy Building and one State of the Art e-Class Room. Accommodation to External Examiners are provided in a well maintained Guest House within the premises. A Multidisciplinary Research Unit (MRU) in collaboration with Department of Health Research has started functioning at N R S Medical College. Another project in collaboration with Department of Biotechnology (DBT-NIDAN Kendra) has also been started. State of the Art Central Laboratory provides 24X7 services to all our patients. Round the clock imaging services - CT Scan, MRI, Digital X-ray and Ultrasonography are also available. Best in class Linear Accelerator facility (Tru-Beam & Hi-Beam) is the latest feather in the crown. Institute provides adequate number of residential accommodation for teaching and non teaching staff. Presently, the Teaching Hospital has 1920 beds. Daily foot fall in the Out Patient Departments are on an average 4700.
