National Forensic Science Academy - Pune, Maharashtra (NFSU Academy – Pune) isanother off-campus of National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), which has beenestablished in collaboration with Directorate of Forensic Science Services (DFSS, NewDel ctorate of Forensic Science Services (DFSS, NewDelhi) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory - Pune (CFSL- Pune) in the Month of June2022 through NFSU Notification ADM/NFSU/Noti_Campuses/1932/2022. The academy ispresently functioning from the CFSL - Pune building in the Pune district of Maharashtra.TheNFSU Academy, Pune envisions a holistic development through research, training & qualityeducation. It is an eminent institute dedicated towards imparting and building scientificaptitude in highly specialized domains. The academy has been established with the objective to impart quality education in Forensicand allied Sciences and conduct training for the FSL, Law Enforcement Agencies, Judiciaryand various other Government and Industry personnel. Training in the areas of DNAForensics, Ballistics, Questioned Documents, cyber-crime, Forensic Toxicology, Analysis ofnarcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, wildlife forensics will be conducted from thisacademy. The NFSU Academy, Pune Campus will address the challenges associated with shortage ofForensic Experts throughout the country and globe. The enormous void created by lack ofresources for investigative research creates hindrance for the functioning of the judiciarysystem of the nation. With the sole objective of overcoming such hurdles, the pune academyoffers opportunities to render it possible to achieve the goal of battling crimes throughForensic and allied science. Presently, NFSU Academy –Pune offers courses in the nicheareas of Crime Scene Management, DNA forensics & Cyber Security.
