NFSU GUWAHATI (National Forensic Sciences University, GUWAHATI)

NFSU Academy - Guwahati, Assam is another off-campus of National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), which has been established in collaboration with Directorate of Forensic Science Services (DFSS, New Delhi) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory ew Delhi) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory - Guwahati (CFSL-Guwahati) in the Month of June 2022 through NFSU Notification ADM/NFSU/Noti_Campuses/1932/2022. The academy is presently functioning from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory – Guwahati building in the Kamrup district of Assam. The academy has been established with the objective to impart quality education in Forensic and allied Sciences and conduct training for the FSL, Law Enforcement Agencies, Judiciary and various other Government and Industry personnel. Training in the areas of DNA Forensics, Ballistics, Questioned Documents, cyber-crime, Forensic Toxicology, Analysis of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, wildlife forensics will be conducted from this academy. Presently three academic programs (PG Diploma in DNA Forensics, PG Diploma in Forensic Document Examination and PG Diploma in Fingerprint Science) are running at this academy. These programs can be availed by in service persons and students pursuing another academic degree in parallel. The academy wants to promote Forensic Science education in the state of Assam and the whole north-eastern region in India and will help to strengthen the criminal justice delivery system. The campus is headed by the campus coordinator in association with the Director of CFSL-Kamrup. Experienced faculty members from NFSU, Directors, Deputy Directors and Assistant Directors of CFSL and senior scientific staff from both CFSL and state FSL are working as resource persons for this academy.
