Established in the year 2004, under the leadership of the philanthropic, technocrat Late I M Jayaram Shetty and the iconic MNBS Trust, MITK has reached out to the rural communities as a symbol of hope for availing technical education. It became a bea for availing technical education. It became a beacon of light for those young minds who were economically less advantaged, but were still nursing big dreams of pursuing professional engineering degrees and becoming competent entrepreneur, technocrats or employees. MITK also offers Post Graduate Management courses for technical as well as humanities graduates. Established in 2008, MITK offers regular two years Post Graduate Degree in Management Studies (MBA – Master of Business Administration). This department comes under the administrative jurisdiction of Moodlakatte Institute of Technology. The Institution is affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University, Belagavi and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi. With the advent of professional courses in Engineering gaining momentum across the nation, a quiet revolution was taking place in the coastal district of Udupi, a well-known name in the realm of higher education. This transformation beckoned the zealous entrepreneurs of Kundapur region to build strong foothold in the yet to be developed region, through establishment of Industries, hotels and educational Institutes Realizing the huge potential of educational avenues available and identifying the need and willingness to make an effort to cater to it, a philanthropic, charitable Trust was established by the family of Late I M Jayaram Shetty by the name MNBS Trust – (Moodlakatte Nagarathna Bhujanga Shetty Trust ®), Moodlakatte in the year 1995. The key purpose of forming the trust was to promote education, social and cultural activities in rural areas of our country. The trust has contributed tremendously in the area of education since its inception, developing a unique identity. The hall mark of this identity is to provide a launch pad for the rural students for pursuing their dreams of higher education. It also stimulates equal educational opportunities for all the students helping them inculcate critical analysis skills and logical thinking.
