The driving force behind this envious achievement has been the committed and tiring toil of THE MUSLIM EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY (MES). The movement started under the great leadership of late Dr. P.K.Abdul Gafoor in 1964 at Calicut, whole heartedly supported by a large number of professionals and businessmen. In a short span of time, this great movement had its branches spread to all districts in Kerala. As on today, it is the largest Educational organization in our nation with strength of more than 20,000 active members, 80,000 students and staff members numbering 15000. It not only has Units in each and every District of Kerala, but also has stretched to neighboring states as well to the Middle East countries.The multilevel healthcare complex titled ‘THE MES ACADEMY OF MEDICAL SCIENCE’ of the muslim educational society is situated in picturesque local sprawling over 60 acres of land at perinthalmanna in malappuram district of Kerala state. This is a multidisciplinary medico network compressing a post graduate medical college and its teaching hospital, dental college, nursing college,scholl of nursing, and the institute of paramedical science, all these educational institutions enjoy minority status under the govt of India. Academic and extracurricular activities of this campus institutions are managed under the parasol of MESAMS. The college is recoganised by the ministry of health and family welfare,newdelhi the medical council of india,govt of kerala and is affiliated to the Kerala university of health sciences.The annual intake of the college is 100.The college conducts the following post graduate Degree courses in General medicine,*paediatrics,*General surgery,*Orthopaedics, *Obstetrics & Gynecology, *pulmonary medicine,*Psychiatry, *Ophthalmology, *Anesthesiology, *Anatomy,*Biochemistry, *Microbiology, *Pathology, *Pharmacology & community medicine. PG diploma courses are also offered in child health,TB & Chest,Psychiatry medicine,Medical radio diagnosis orthopaedics,ophthalmology,Anesthesiology and clinical pathology.The college building comprises four stories with a total floor area of 1,50,000 sq.ft.I has got full fledged pre and para -clinical depts.
