About Melbourne School of Population and Global Health (MSPGH)
The Melbourne School of Population and Global Health is committed to building a healthier, more equitable world. With a focus on improving Indigenous health outcomes and public health globally, we strive to develop innovative leaders and conduct impa ive to develop innovative leaders and conduct impactful research to address current real-world challenges. This strategic plan sets out our strategic direction and aspirations for the next five years. It details a unifying approach across four focus areas – Education, Discovery, Community and Indigenous Health – which are underpinned by our Culture and our growing Global Presence. We work together to build a healthier, sustainable, more equitable world. Improve the lives of people, wellbeing of communities and health of the planet through outstanding education, transformative research, and courageous advocacy. Improving outcomes in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health is central to our work. We are the leading school of public health in Asia-Pacific. We train, research, implement, advise and advocate globally. We are a trusted, independent voice. We are multidisciplinary, diverse and inclusive. We aspire to be recognised globally as a leading school of public health research within the next five years by undertaking research that is of the highest quality and makes a critical difference to policy and practice, and by expanding our regional, global and cross-disciplinary partnerships. We will always set and model expectations among staff and students, build workplace trust with support and skills for leading people, provide an inclusive and accessible environment and take an evidence-led approach to enhance experience and wellbeing. We are bringing Indigenous health and research to the fore by working with community. We will create cross-cutting programs to address local, regional and global health challenges, champion collaboration and innovation and build capacity for healthcare and public health research. We aspire to build deep, respectful partnerships with communities to strengthen internal understanding, cultural integrity and capacity of Indigenous and non-Indigenous students, graduates and staff, with a high-quality integrated teaching, research and policy impact program that improves Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes.
