About Master of Science in Public Health Nutrition (M.Sc. PHN), IIPHG
This program aims to produce adept Public Health nutrition professionals. They can critically analyze, strategize, and lead initiatives to alleviate nutrition-related disparities and promote healthier lifestyles, ultimately enhancing community well-b lifestyles, ultimately enhancing community well-being. Such nutrition professionals shall support the nutrition field, as a trained cadre of nutrition professionals to government, and non-government. (International/national NGOs, training institutes, etc.) to contribute to large-scale implementation of national flagship health, foods & nutrition programs. The program will also develop students’ research capacities in public health nutrition. They will conduct in-depth original research or operations alongside coursework. The internship provides students with an opportunity to integrate theoretical knowledge, research, and managerial skills. Some of the places the students could do their internship are given below: Government Sector: Non-government, and development partner organizations: Non-government, and development partner organizations: Integrated Child Development Scheme, Women and Child Health Department Nutrition Division, Health and Family Welfare Department National and State Health Systems Resource Centre UNICEF, Nutrition International, UNDP, WFP, IFPRI etc Academia and institutions delivering technical support Startups in nutrition. The post-graduates in M.Sc. (PHN) would be competent in techno-managerial capacity for nutrition. Through this course, the professionals will be capable of positioning themselves at programmatic managerial levels in: This course is intended for freshers as well as individuals working in the nutrition sector who intend to develop themselves professionally in the field of public health nutrition. Graduates from medical and paramedical background including dentistry, Indian Systems of Medicine, graduates in Veterinary/Nursing Sciences, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Pharmacy, or students with graduation degree in basic life science, biotechnology, biochemistry, family and community science, home science (food & nutrition as major subject), dietetics, food science and quality control, food and nutrition, and/or microbiology can apply.
