Lukhdhirji Engineering College, Morbi

With a view to cater the needs of Technical Education in Saurashtra region of Gujarat; Morbi Technical Institute (MIT) was established in 1931. His highness, Honorable Late Lukhdhirji donated his palace, which was constructed on 40 acres of land on t ce, which was constructed on 40 acres of land on the banks of river Machhu for MIT in 1951. Thus, MIT was renamed after him and in the later years, was upgraded to its present state as an Engineering college, presently known as Lukhdhirji Engineering College. Initially as Lukhdhirji Engineering College offered conventional degree and diploma courses in Engineering like Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Gradually, the diversified disciplined like Industrial, Production, Power Electronics and Information Technology, Chemical Engineering, Applied Mechanics were introduced at degree level and Ceramic, Metallurgy, Electronics and Communication at diploma level. The institute is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Gujarat Technological University. To provide quality engineering education and transforming students into professionally competent and socially responsible human being. To create a sustainable society through ethical and accountable engineering practices. Lukhdhirji Engineering College, popularly known as L.E. College or LEC Morbi is located in the Morbi district. It was established as a polytechnic in 1931, then known as Morvi Technical Institute (MTI) and was upgraded to a full-fledged degree engineering college in 1951 when the Maharaja Thakore Shri Sir Lukhdhirji Waghji Sahib Bahadur of Morvi state donated his palace with 40 acres (160,000 m2) of land on the bank of river Machhu and the institute was named after him. The institute is operated by the government of Gujarat and is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University. The campus is located on the banks of river Machhu in Morbi, Gujarat. The campus is divided into clusters of buildings. The academic area consists of various departmental buildings, the administration block, the students amenities building, and a badminton court and swimming pool. The academic area is divided into old campus and new campus. Apart from conventional departments, L.E.
