It was the time a good number of people of Khajipalem and of surrounding villages were moved with great patriotic fervour and they tried to break the shackles of slavery of Mother India. Sri Manthena Venkata Raju was prominent among those great men. Venkata Raju was prominent among those great men. He served the mother land not only as freedom fighter but also an MLA for two terms. In honour of his inspiring personality, “Manthena Venkata Raju Seva Samithi” was established with an ideal view of starting an educational institution to provide quality education to the students of this rural area. A College was thus established under the auspices of “Manthena Venkata Raju Seva Samithi” with large donations was given by the three greatmen of charity Sri Kusampudi Vishnu Vardhana Raju, Sri Kanumuri Venkata Raju and Sri Manthena Krishnam Raju. Therefore the college was named after them as KVR, KVR & MKR College. KVR, KVR & MKR College was founded in 1981. It has been an Aided institution since 1986. The college has witnessed phenomenal growth of infrastructure and other facilities during the last 34 years in view of the fast changing educational and economic scenario throughout the world. The college has acquired the recognition in the region as the hub of providing excellent education in the field of social sciences, commerce, science, etc. This is the campus in the region that has UG & PG programs in the emerging disciplines of technology. The mission is emancipation of backwardness, poverty and mental constraints of local youth by providing higher education, life skills and personality development. This institution has been striving hard to promote academic excellence, to inculcate human values and social responsibilities and to mould the students as good citizens of India. This institution is affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur. This institution is accredited with ‘B++’ grade in 2007 in the assessment by the NAAC, Bangalore. KVR, KVR & MKR College was originated by the combined efforts of people of Khajipalem and Surrounding villages with very common mission of providing higher education to the students of this rural area. It has occupied a prominent place in the educational sphere of Andhra Pradesh. The mission, goals and objectives of this College are geared towards bringing about a society that is based on human values. All-round development is the aim. Within the existing framework, we attempt to provide inputs for intellectual, aesthetic, ethical, and physical formation. We have evolved innovative methods of teaching and tried to inculcate critical, lateral and rational thinking, thereby contributing actively to the formation of the intellectual life of students. ...view more
