The KMCH College of Nursing founded in the year 1993 as the first educational institution of Dr.N.G.P. Research and Educational Trust (Formerly Kovai Medical Center Research & Educational Trust). Now, the KMCH College of Nursing is a full pledged Pos the KMCH College of Nursing is a full pledged Post graduate institution par excellence. The college is attached to the Kovai Medical Center and Hospital, which is a 1000 bed multi disciplinary super speciality hospital. The Hospital is a well known Health Center in the Southern part of India. Dr.N.G.P. Research and Educational Trust, Coimbatore, is a Non-Profitable Voluntary organisation established in the year 1990 by the promoters of Kovai Medical Center and Hospital Ltd to serve the people of India. Education, Training and Research activities of the Kovai Medical Center and Hospital are carried out by the trust. KMCH provides good opportunity to our students to translate their hands on simulation lab training into real practice with the close supervision and guidance of nursing faculty. They get wide range of exposure to different specialty fields such as cardiothoracic surgery, respiratory, gastro- intestinal, ortho, oncology, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology including community health centres. Our students also receive hands on experiences in different arenas such as critical care units, dialysis, emergency triaging, operation theatre, advanced diagnostics, robotic surgery, stroke units etc. Students are also exposed to hospital information system where they learn computer based hospital management. Our interns are posted in well-resourced intensive care units (ICUs) such as medical, surgical, trauma, coronary care, cardiothoracic, neuro, pediatric and neonatal units. Clinical staff acts as mentors by closely monitoring the students along with nursing faculty. Consultant doctors, intensivists, nursing supervisors also take part in imparting clinical knowledge and necessary skill to our students. The extensive set up of KMCH facilitates our students to correlate and integrate both class room learning and clinical learning. Clinical training at KMCH is one of the best and cherishing experience to the students and they will be ready to take up the role as a nurse successfully after completing the course.
