College started on 31st October 1990 The functioning was inaugurated by Hon: Minister E.Chandrasekharan Nair [Minister for Food and Civil supplies]. R. UnnikrishnaPillai MLA, Then Syndicate members Mr.G. Sudhakaran, Mr.K.G. Devadas, Rev Fr. K.A. Abra .G. Sudhakaran, Mr.K.G. Devadas, Rev Fr. K.A. Abraham, Prof. K. Mohankumar , The convener implementation of the college and so many delegates gave their valuable presence to that occasion. In the first University examination we created a Historical victory. Our Reena .K.Eapen from Mathematics optional made a remarkable performance and she bagged the First Rank in the examination(1990).The next year also we came back to the same history through Geetha Srinivas of Physical Science Optional (1992 ). In the concurrent years also we belong the victory stand with 95-100percentage of success. In the opening years the college was arranged to 5 optional subjects (English,Mathematics,Physical Science,Natural Sciene and History) and the college was accommodated with 300students. In 1998 the number of students was subjected to 180 and from 2002 onwards it was subjected to 165 and optional subjects are as follows English ,Malayalam,Mathematics,Physical Science ,NaturalScience and Social Science Kerala University College of Teacher Education, Adoor is one of the foremost institutions under University of Kerala, which offers Bachelor Degree in Education (B Ed).
