K.M.O College of Teacher Education offering B-Ed course was started in the year 2010-11. Koduvally Muslim Orphanage is a Charitable Institution established during the year 1978. This Orphanage has been registered under Societies Registration Act o been registered under Societies Registration Act of 1860 (Reg No. 17/78), and affiliated to the Board of Control for Orphanages and other Charitable Institutions, Govt. of Kerala. The main aim of this Orphanage is to protect the Orphan children [Both Boys & Girls] providing them food, clothing, Medical aid and Education. While starting this institution there were only few inmates. There after number of inmates was increased. During the last 36 years we could look after thousands of orphans. The inmates who left this institution have gained better education and some of them are now working as Doctors, Engineers, Professors, Computer engineers, teachers etc. The college is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) Bangalore and approved by the Govt of Kerala and affiliated to the University of Calicut. The sanctioned strength is 100 students with subjects Mathematics, English, Physical Science and Social Science. According to the Holy Traditions the best Muslim's home is the one wherein an orphan is supported nd is treated in a loving and affectionate manner, and the worst is that home wherein an orphan lives and is treated badly or cruelly. It is related by Sahl ibn Saad (R.A.) that Rasulullah Muhammad (PBUH) said ""Whoever supports an orphan from among his own or any other family, he will be as close to me in Heaven as these fingers are close to each other."." Sahl (R.A.) says that Rasulullah (PBUH) made a motion of his index and middle fingers (while he said this) and there was only a little space between the two. In another Hadith the Holy Prophet (PBUH) made a provision: "provided he is not guilty of an unpardonable sin."
