JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, formerly known as JSS University, is a Deemed to be University located in Mysuru, Karnataka. It was established in 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and is part of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, which runs a v and is part of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, which runs a variety of educational institutions. This deemed-to-be university is recognized by Ministry of Education and accredited by NAAC with A++ Grade (3.61 CGPA). JSS AHER has been graded as Category-I Deemed-to-be University by UGC. The Deemed to be University has been focusing on teaching, research and health services since its inception. National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF): JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research has sustained its position among the top 50 universities in India for the 8th consecutive year (2016-2023) in the University Category. It was ranked 34th among 2478 entries in the University Category and 55th among 8686 entries in the Overall Category, sustaining its position in the top 100 Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in India. 2. Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking 2024: JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research was ranked in the Rank band of 801-1000 globally. 3. QS Stars Rating Excellence: JSS AHER Awarded as 5-star rating in Overall Excellence by QS - Quacquarelli Symonds from the UK in 2023. It is the first institution in the state of Karnataka and the first Health Science-based institution in India to receive this recognition. JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER) is primarily focused on medical and health-related studies. It comprises several faculties including Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, and Faculty of Pharmacy at the main campus in Mysuru, as well as another Faculty of Pharmacy college in Ootacamund, Tamil Nadu.
