About Institute Of Road and Transport Polytechnic College (Bargur) (IRT Polytechnic College)
The Institute Of Road and Transport Polytechnic College (Bargur) was established in the year 1992. It is run by Institute of Road Transport, Taramani, Chennai, under the control of State Transport Department , Government of TamilNadu. The Institute i artment , Government of TamilNadu. The Institute is located at Chettipalli village in Chennai - Bangalore National highways( NH 46) . It is 10 km from Krishnagiri and 7 km from Bargur. This Institution is started with the idea of imparting Technical education to the wards of the State Transport Corporation Employees. Our Polytechnic Initially functioning at the Govt. Polytechnic College Krishnagiri and from the year 1994 it is shifted to new campus with an area of 9.17 acres. The Institute has excellent infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, library and highly qualified faculty members. The Institute is well known for its technical excellence, modern facilities, good performance track record and resourcefulness. Our institute offers four disciplines namely, Institute of Road Transport Polytechnic College, Tirunelveli was started in the the year 1992. It is run by Institute of Road Transport, Taramani, Chennai under the control of State Transport Department , Government of TamilNadu. The Institute has excellent infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, library and highly qualified faculty members. The Institute is well known for its technical excellence, modern facilities, good performance track record and resourcefulness. The Polytechnic College is functioning with an area of 6.99 Acre. The College has been taken over by Higher Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. The Institute of Road Transport Polytechnic College, Chennai was started by the Institute of Road Transport, Taramani in the year 1992-93. Three Polytechnics in Chennai, Bargur, and Tirunelveli were started with the idea of imparting Technical Education to the wards of the Transport Corporation employees. The Polytechnic functions in the campus with an area of 17.35 acres. Education is all about creating an environment of academic freedom, where bright minds meet, discover and learn.
