About Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM)
The Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM) at the University of Bern provides undergraduate and postgraduate education and carries out interdisciplinary research in the fields of social and behavioural health, clinical epidemiology and bi d behavioural health, clinical epidemiology and biostatistics, and international and environmental health. Eminent speakers from Switzerland and abroad give presentations at monthly lectures where researchers from other institutes and members of the public are welcome to attend. Our mission is to advance knowledge of health and disease among populations within their social and natural environments through evidence-based, participatory, and interdisciplinary academic research; educate graduate and postgraduate students to become knowledgeable, responsible professionals in academic, clinical, and public health positions; create and promote health by disseminating knowledge, informing policy, and providing services from local to global levels.
