ICTA envisions a world where people rooted in different traditions of religion, race and region live together as brothers and sisters; where there is basic unity and mutual respect for the differences of individuals and groups. George Kandathil SJ, who was trained under Muriel James and Claude Steiner, the first disciples of Dr. Eric Berne. Fr. Kandathil was a teaching member accredited by the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA), California, USA. TA became a well-accepted training methodology in our country with the two programs he conducted in 1971 – one at the Inter-company seminar for senior managers at Taj Hotel, Mumbai and the other at the annual meeting of the Catholic Bishops Conference in Kolkata. ICTA has, over the years, trained hundreds of therapeutic counsellors and corporate personnel through courses conducted at the institute as well as outside. Fr. George Kandathil developed a new theory of TRIOLOGY. Triology highlights the positive aspects of the Bernian Ego States. His path-breaking intuitive discovery espouses Relatedness as the basis of one’s identity, or self-affirmation as the source of all development. , This has made Triology a developmental tool that enhances the therapeutic potential of TA. Santigram trust was formed in 1997; it was born out of a mutual understanding and agreement between ICTA and the Kerala Jesuit Society.
