Located amidst hills and rivers, the permanent campus of IIM Sambalpur is functioning in a newly built state-of-the-art buildings that reflects an eclectic mix of the traditional IKAT—a patterned textile-dyeing technique and a significant part of S xtile-dyeing technique and a significant part of Sambalpur's history and culture - mapped onto the brick facade with remarkable elegance, and the modernity at Basantapur village on the outskirts of Sambalpur City. – the education hub comprising the Medical University (VIMSAR), Engineering University (VSSUT), Sambalpur University, GM University, Sainik School, and the elite College of Agriculture, OUAT, and CRPF, the Group Centre Sambalpur. Specked with euphoric mix, Maa Ghanteswari Temple is located 15 km west of IIM Sambalpur on the bank of river Mahanadi and in the vicinity of the Institute, the Hirakud Dam is located – the world’s longest earthen dam and is surrounded by mountains, verdant forests, and Debrigarh wildlife sanctuary making the town very picturesque and close to Nature. The natural beauty of the jungles, riverbed, and dam itself would surely not let down the birdwatchers and animal lovers. The area has an abundance of cottage and small-scale industry catering to handloom textile, pottery & agriculture. This provides opportunities for real-life experiential learning for students of IIM Sambalpur. The wi-fi enabled campus houses, Academic building, the classrooms, hostels, and the auditorium. The library offers an extensive collection of physical and digital resources comprising books and e-books, print and e-journals, an exhaustive range of databases, reference titles, case studies, and other materials. The hostel block also accommodates the mess, 24×7 cafeteria, Health care center and gym for the fitness freaks which are under construction. Faculty residences are located in the newly build housing complex called “Greater Sambalpur” close proximity to the campus with all the modern amenities and facilities. The institute has well-furnished guest houses that provide stay for visiting faculty, corporate, and guests. The permanent campus of the institute is under possession and construction is expected to be finished in scheduled time. Excellent links to reach Sambalpur are available from Bhubaneswar and Raipur via rail, road, and air. With Jharsuguda airport – an hour’s drive from the Institute – is operational from 31st March 2019, and with the recently built Biju Expressway, connectivity is as good as it can get.
