Ichilov, the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, is the second-largest hospital in Israel. The Tel Aviv Medical Center is a municipal-government hospital that comprises four hospitals: Ichilov General Hospital, Lis Maternity and Women’s Hospital, Dana-Dwek Children’s Hospital, and the Ida Sourasky Rehabilitation Hospital. In 2022, the Sylvan Adams Emergency Medicine Hospital was inaugurated. At the end of 2023, rehabilitation services were significantly expanded with the opening of BeShilam – the Rehabilitation Hospital for War Casualties.A strategy centered on establishing and nurturing centers of excellence has led to high demand for hospital services from over 1.5 million people annually, all receiving professional, high-quality care. It has also attracted top physicians seeking to join the hospital’s team. For more than a decade, graduates from all four Israeli medical schools have chosen Ichilov as their first choice for internships. The hospital also serves as a teaching and research center affiliated with the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University and the Sheinborn School of Nursing. Thousands of medical center staff members provide world-class professional care to patients from across Israel and around the world. Ichilov also serves as a bridge to peace by providing treatment to patients from the Palestinian Authority and Arab countries. Research, development, and innovation activities are conducted under the I-Next framework. For several years, Ichilov has ranked first in clinical research activity in various metrics set by the Ministry of Health. Hundreds of basic and clinical studies are conducted annually, seeking new ways to understand medical processes, diagnose diseases, and develop treatments.
