About Gulbarga University
Gulbarga University was established on 10th September 1980 as the State University by Act of State Government of Karnataka under section 3 of Karnataka State Universities Act 1976, substituted by KSU Act 2000. The University has been recognized by th Act 2000. The University has been recognized by the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 under 2(f) and 12(b), as affiliating university. It was earlier, a Post Graduate Centre of Karnataka University, Dharwad from 1970-1980. Situated in the North-Eastern part of Karnataka, Jnana Ganga, main campus of the University with greenery is sprawling over 800 acres at Kalaburagi, a district head quarter with a post graduate centre at Aland, a taluka head quarter. The University logo is Stone Cart and Vidyeye Amruta is the moto, which means education is nector and truly conveys the spirit of university education. Creating a complete man through Higher Education with an eco-friendly environment in an University is utmost important. All deep rooted core disciplinary components (Shasthras) of education are highly integrated and will never clash each other, in fact, complement each other for the welfare of the human kind. Integration of core disciplinary knowledge with vital skills, values and professional ethics is a paradigm shift visualized under new National Education Policy-2020 in Higher Education aiming at the youth leading towards a rewarding life. Learning-outcomes with human values and moral ethics enhance the quality of higher education.
