About GTU Board of Cultural Activities
Gujarat Technological University is formed in 2007 to excel in technical education. In addition, it also wants to be a leader in various co-curricular activities like Cultural activities, Sports activities, Social activities, NCC, NSS etc for its s vities, Social activities, NCC, NSS etc for its students. GTU has started various cultural activities in the year 2011. Youth Festival is one of the important events. GTU is also planning various activities to preserve cultural heritage of Indai. Virasat – A program in this direction by SPIC MACY is approved this year by the Board of Cultural Activities. GTU wants to start many such activities. GTU want to excel in this field also. Your valuable input in context is very important for the improvement of these activities. I am herewith sending you details of Youth Festival along with participation in this regards. Youth Festivals in GTU are organized at Zonal level i.e. five zones separately for degree level institutes i.e. Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, VV Nagar & Rajkot zone. Finally inter zonal competition is organized at last. Direct inter zonal Youth Festival is organized for Diploma level institutes. Zonal Youth Festival & Inter Zonal Youth Festival are conducted with specific theme in which University wants to give message to society. These themes may be Save Girl Child, Preserve Cultural Heritage; Environment etc University had organized three Youth Festivals till date. Brand name of youth festival of GTU is “XITIJ”. Youth Festival is organized at zonal level in the first stage where approximately 125 institutes & approximately 5000 students have participated at University level in the previous Youth Festivals. Approximately 20000 to 30000 students are competing at college level to represent institute in GTU youth festival. GTU has organized Award Function to felicitate achiever of these activities. Mr Abhijat Joshi, Script Writer of Lage Raho Munnabhai & 3 Idiots remained present as Chief Guest in the function. He has given very good inputs to improve these activities. Shri Yogesh Gadhvi was remained present in the 2nd Award Function & tried to promote cultural heritage of Gujarat.
