Govindammal Aditanar College for Women (GACW)

The year 1987 is a momentous one in the annals of Tiruchendur Taluk for it witnessed the rise of a college for women in Tiruchendur. The college owes its origin solely on the philanthropy of Dr.B.Sivanthi Adityan, the illustrious son of a noble fathe nthi Adityan, the illustrious son of a noble father Mr.Si.Pa.Aditanar. The college is a self-financing institution and It is fully maintained by the munificence of Aditanar Educational Institution. No capitation fee or donation is accepted for admission or appointment. The founder of the college, Dr.B.Sivanthi Adityan was the Director of Daily Thanthi, a leading newspaper in Tamil and was a great industrialist. From 1987, Govindammal Aditanar College has the academic credit of securing many university ranks continuously from its establishment. So far, our college students have obtained 1416 university ranks including 92 gold medals.
