Govt. Polytechnic College Kangra came into existence in the year 1992, with the up gradation of erstwhile Junior Technical School established by Punjab Govt. in 1959. This polytechnic has earned the reputation of being one of the premier institu the reputation of being one of the premier institutes of the state by producing and providing technically competent, professionally proficient and socially relevant human resources to cater for the industrial and technological world of work. This Polytechnic has attained the capability and distinction of acquiring ISO 9001-2015 by developing the optimal infrastructure, and becoming a cynosure for the seekers of the technical education . This Polytechnic is imparting three year diploma courses in the emerging areas of technology viz. Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering Driving along the state highway 21 from Hoshiarpur to Dharmshala, one reaches the famous and historical town of Kangra, (distt. DISTINCT FEATURES It is one of the premier Polytechnics of state of H.P spread over 23.75 acres with excellent environment and facilities for learning and teaching. An ergonomically designed majestic, Multiple Hall with excellent acoustics and brilliant lighting system, the facility of indoor games like Badminton and table Tennis etc., and a seating capacity of about 600. An amenities Block incorporating separate canteens for the students and staff, common rooms, well furnished guestrooms. Well laid out playfields for the games like Cricket, Hockey, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, and Kabaddi etc. One girls hostel(60 seated) is situated at the main campus of the institute.
