Government Arts and Science College, Kangeyam was established in 2013 by introducing basic degree programmes in Tamil, English, Commerce, Mathematics and Computer Science. It is affiliated to the Bharathiyar University. When it was established, it wa athiyar University. When it was established, it was the only government institution in Kangeyam that has provided higher education. The institution benefits the first generation learners who belong to socio-economically and educationally backward sections of the society in and around Kangeyam Taluk. The institution is located in a sylvan and idyllic surrounding with a campus of 16 acres. The institution is situated 10 km away from the town on Kangeyam – Erode highway. The institution aims to mould the student community who hail mostly from the marginalized and weaker sections of the society. The aim is to guide the students constructively towards national goals by upholding the values of secularism, national integration and social commitment. The primary goal of the institution is to enable the students to cope with the demands of the contemporary global scenario through effective transaction of the curricular and co-curricular aspects. Academic excellence, personality development and social orientation are our guiding principles.
