About GOA BOARD OF SECONDARY AND HIGHER SECONDARY EDUCATION (GBSHSE)

The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education is corporate statutory body constituted by an Act “The Goa, Daman and Diu Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Act, 1975” (Act No. 13 of 1975) [27th May, 1975] of the state legis o. 13 of 1975) [27th May, 1975] of the state legislature. The GBSHSE i.e. the Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education is the main education board in Goa which is administered by the Government of Goa. The GBSHSE is mainly responsible for conducting the Goa board SSC exams (class 10) and the Goa board HSSC exams (class 12) for all the affiliated schools in Goa. The Goa board is not only responsible for conducting exams but is also responsible for recognition to schools, advising Government for policies related to secondary and higher secondary education, prescribing textbooks and courses, declare results, etc. The Goa board SSC exams or the class 10 exams are conducted by the board every year in the month of February or March. The exams are taken by numerous students from all across the state and the pass percentage of them are considered to be excellent. The Goa board HSSC exams or the class 12 exams are also conducted by the GBSHSE and is generally conducted in the months of March every year and the results are declared by May. Several students appear for the exams every year and the pass percentage is also gradually increasing.
