Welcome to the Faculty of Dental Science (FDS), one of DDU's flagship institutions that offers speciality postgraduate and under graduate education in dental science. Founded in 2005 with the goal of instituting an innovative, high-quality teaching instituting an innovative, high-quality teaching approach in dental education, the DDU's Faculty of Dental Science is today one of the most modern institutions in the country. The Faculty is armed with modern infrastructure including fully-equipped labs, smart seminar rooms, well-managed departmental libraries, and a professionally managed in-house dental clinic for patient exposure. The Faculty has employed renowned teachers as professors and readers, who leverage their knowledge, achievements and experience to facilitate best quality education and practice to the students. We prescribe a holistic teaching approach thereby equipping students with emerging dental concepts as well as practical skills to confidently face the future and excel in their career paths. Equal emphasis is laid on instilling professional values and dental ethics in the students to ensure that they not only become competent dentists but also remain compassionate to patients. FDS continues to remain at the forefront of facilitating research & development as well as stay sensitive to community needs. Research is an essential ingredient of any academic system. We provide platform and the guidance to all students interested to publish their research projects in our journal. Under DDU Publication, we publish a journal named “Journal of Dental Science” on annual basis. Our dental college exhibits an array of equipments starting from basic to most contemporary & advanced gadgets like Lasers, Endodontic microscope, Dolphin Imaging Software, etc.Every year approximately 1,20,000 patients undergo various kind of dental treatments in our institute. A dedicated Oral Cancer Centre has been functioning to curb & treat the ill-effects of tobacco. One of the highest patient flows amongst dental institutes of Gujarat Collaboration with local as well as state-level hospitals for placement of postgraduate students Ours is a premier institute imparting excellent clinical education & scientific research training to the enrolled students. The college is an integral part of prestigious Dharmsinh Desai University and is recognized by Dental Council of India for its undergraduate & postgraduate courses.
