The Department of Clinical Psychology was established in the year 2013 under the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences of SGT University. The Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences (FBS) was formally established as an independent entity in 2014 w lly established as an independent entity in 2014 with Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral programs in Clinical Psychology. In 2017 and 2019, the faculty introduced RCI-recognized programs of M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology (2-year duration), and Professional Diploma in Clinical Psychology (1-year duration). B.A. (Hons.) Psychology program was also started in 2017 with a thrust of providing exposure to students in the current areas of Applied Psychology. In addition to Clinical psychology, the faculty offers Forensic, Cognitive, and Counselling specializations to UG, PG, and Ph.D. students. The faculty aims to fulfil the demand for professionally trained clinical psychologists and counsellors to meet the ever-increasing demand of addressing mental health concerns of the community/ society and the nation. OPD/IPD facilities with the Psychiatry department, laboratories and classrooms with digital technology, and hands-on training on assessment & application of diagnostic tools are an integral part of their experiential learning. To enhance the skills for employability the curriculum provides ample opportunity to the students through community outreach programs, internships, and placement.
