In the year 1925, some committed college going students reflected and deliberated on value of women education. They deeply thought what, how and who should impart education to women. Smt. R. D. Gardi Bhavnagar Stree Kelavani Mandal was originally started as Bhavnagar Stree Kelavani Mandal in the year 1925 by a group of young social workers and educationists, through the support of late Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji and guidance and help of the then Divan Sir Prabhashankar Pattani. At the time of diamond jubilee celebration in 1985 and later the well-known philanthropist shri Dipchandbhai Gardi gave a large donation and “ Bhavnagar Stree Kelavani Mandal “ was renamed as “ Smt. Rukshamanibahen Dipchand Gardi Bhavnagar Stree Kelavani Mandal “ The education from Balmandir to Post Graduates is imparted to economically, socially and educationally challenged classes of all cast creed and religion.
