Enel X Global Retail has built an integrated offering for all business targets (B2C, B2B, B2G). Its business model is led by platforms designed around customer needs, to create an engaging and seamless experience and position itself as the energy partner of choice. Enel X Global Retail’s business model is based on 4 strategic pillars. Platformization The standardization of global processes and business models, enabled by platforms, reduces complexity. Digitalization The push toward digital in the services offered is a distinctive and essential element to create added value and enable analytics. Ecosystem The creation of interconnected solutions, makes it possible to become a partner of choice, reliable and comprehensive for all targets. Our presence extends from Europe to Latin America, North America, Asia and Oceania, a total of 58 million customers worldwide and 19 countries of operation. Enel X expanded its services by acquiring companies specialized in the digitization of energy services and by creating partnerships with companies from industries such as automotive, home automation, and ICT. It also carries out activities in the field of electric mobility, leading to the installation of charging points throughout Italy. In July 2018, Enel X acquired 21% of Ufinet International, a platform in the ultra-broadband sector in Latin America. Around the same time, Enel X expanded into the energy efficiency sector by acquiring Yousave. In October 2018, Enel X announced that its subsidiary EnerNOC, Inc. had rebranded to Enel X. This operation was followed by the acquisition of Demand Energy (DEN) and eMotorWerks in the United States. On December 20, 2018, Enel X and Infracapital signed a deal for energy efficiency projects for business customers. In September 2018, the company announced progress on the installation of new charging points in Italy. In January 2019, Enel X became Poland’s demand response leader for the 2021–2023 period, securing a 70% share in the segment. In June 2019, Enel X and FCA signed a partnership agreement for the development of electric vehicle projects. In October 2019, the company signed a partnership with Hyundai, enabling EV charging at Enel X public charging stations. Similar partnerships followed with other car manufacturers, such as Audi, PSA, and Smart. In 2019, Enel X launched the “Vivi Meglio” project, aimed at promoting energy efficiency, technical modernization, and enhancing safety standards in the construction industry. That same year, the company presented Homix at the IBM Center in Milan. Homix integrates Alexa and evolves the concept of an intelligent thermostat by learning from household habits to manage consumption, safety, and lighting. In January 2020, Enel X participated in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. At the end of October 2020, Enel X Pay was founded to expand its ecosystem of physical and digital payment services. Around the same time, the company completed the acquisition of Paytipper S.p.A. and Cityposte Payment. In 2022, Enel X’s electric mobility services were incorporated into Enel X Way, a new global business line of the Enel Group dedicated to sustainable mobility, with the aim of accelerating the development of EV charging infrastructure. That same year, the Enel Group’s electricity and gas sales activities were moved under Enel X’s management.
